About Streetsander (that’s me)

My name is Sander Krogsether, (or Streetsander if you prefer) and I’m a 25 year old Norwegian content writer living in Malta with my German girlfriend. When I’m not at work writing, I’m either outside taking photos or head deep in some great show on Netflix with a beer in my right and my girlfriend on my left.

This website is my way of maintaining my hobby. I don’t do it for the money. I do it to force myself to capture more photos and delve deeper into the photographic world. I do it because the past few months prior to creating this website, I found myself not doing as much photography as I wanted to.

Streetsander – street photographer at heart

While I shoot all types of photography, I consider myself mainly a street photographer. Hence the name Streetsander, which might be overly simplistic and silly, but I like it. I find myself drawn to photos that are real and gritty, and the street is great for that. I’m not a big fan of perfect”, overly post-processed photos. Like those amazing portraits and oh-so-popular landscape pornography shots you see all over Instagram. Sure, they look great, but they don’t give me much emotionally.

The world is old and crooked and I’m drawn to its wrinkles and imperfections. That’s why you will rarely see a “picture perfect” photo on here. Oh, and I have no idea (or desire to learn) how to create these amazing shots in post.

A shy street photographer

I’m also full wack shy and introverted – and that leaks into the look of my photos. It’s something I’ve felt quite limited by earlier in my photographic (and non-photographic) life, but I think it’s also what pushes me out the door most of the time. I love taking photos of strangers because, well, it scares me, and that’s exciting.

Is that an affiliate link?

You will see the occasional affiliate link on here. It’s there to try make the site pay for itself. So if you like what I do here on streetsander.com, consider following my links before buying something online. It doesn’t cost you anything, but it sends a small sum my way to keep this site going. Photography is an expensive hobby, and I pay for all the gear I test myself.

Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to hear from you in the comment section on one of my blog posts!

Oh, and if you want to know more about how I test my gear you can read all about my reviews here.
